We introduce our advanced, class-leading Anicare NanoTrack products to the field of animal research for tracking the location and behavior of both wild and domestic animals, enabling reliable monitoring of multiple species
As a small, lightweight ear tag-sized device, the product has a wide range of applications, as ear attachment is for many animal species the most reliable method for tagging animals of all ages and sexes.
Thousands of Anicare devices have been used in the Nordic countries on wild and semi-wild animals with excellent results, ensuring the reliability and usability of our product in extreme conditions.
The Anicare NanoTrack is a small device attached to an animal’s ear with a battery life of up to 10 years (under a 1 location/week sampling interval). No comparable device has been previously available for research purposes.

How wildlife tracking is done
WITH THE ANICARE APP
Device management and animal data maintenance are handled through the free Anicare app. You can enter detailed information about the animal in the app so you know exactly which animal the device is attached to.
In the basic mode, you will receive information about the animal’s location in the app once a day, and if necessary, you can set and change the tracking frequency between 1 and 24 hours via the app.
Putting the device to sleep and setting a weekly tracking frequency are also possible.
If the animal’s life is in danger, you will immediately receive a separate alert on your phone and you can see the location on the Anicare app map accurately.
With the Anicare app, you can share the animal’s information and location with others who use the Anicare app. You can also check the route taken by an animal equipped with the device, as you can always see the five most recent reported locations in the app.
Customer service will provide summary data of locations with time stamps upon request.

Anicare’s self-developed device and data analysis service can be customized to meet individual needs. The needs of each research project are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and a solution is created together that best serves that need and provides ready-processed data based on predefined criteria. This allows research to focus on analyzing the concrete results of measurement and research.
A new way to study animal behavior
The attached video demonstrates how Anicare’s Nano Track device collects detailed animal welfare data. The video highlights an animal carrying the Anicare Nano Track device. The diagram shows the animal’s activity, and the sectors indicate different behaviors that the device recognizes:
Green sector: Moderate activity – Rumination in ruminants
Orange sector: High activity – Feeding and movement time
Blue sector: Low activity – Sleep or resting time
The Nano Track device can be taught to track desired information from different animal species individually.
Nano Track can monitor behavior at this level for over 10 years (under a 1 location/week sampling interval).
